THE ART CURATOR'S PROFILE OF SALLY DELAP-JOHN
As the art curator here at La Posada, it is such pleasure to have the work of Sally Delap-John in our Gallery Collection. There are many others who paint the same subjects from the same places with a creative perspective, filled with inspiration, but Sally Delap-John's oil paintings stand out for their jewel-toned colors and strong compositions that seem like music for the soul. I love her works and am thrilled to be able to show it off!
One of the things that Northern New Mexico is known for is its "painter's light". The special beauty of this phenomenon continues to attract artists just as it has for decades. For Sally Delap-John, it is a personal, heart-felt connection, because she actually lives in the high mountain village of Truchas, New Mexico, which is also the primary focus for the artist's incredible oil paintings.
At over 8,000 feet in elevation, the village has a picture around every corner. Seen in a different light, on a different day, the painting possibilities are endless. The magic of the places she paints is evidenced in her original oil paintings that we feature exclusively in Santa Fe at La Posada.

SALLY DELAP-JOHN REMEMBERS: "Being a working, professional artist is the most important part of my life. I am able to live in the environment that I love to paint. I see it, breathe it every day, and I am connected through my paintings even more to this enchanted land that I call home. It's a lovely life!"
