Neal Wilson

The extraordinary oil paintings of Professor Neal Wilson are bound for venues that will take him on the path to The Museum of Modern Art.  Here in Santa Fe, we are privileged to exhibit this important work exclusively at La Posada’s Gallery Collection.

Mr. Wilson has lead a long life of academia, all the while compiling an amazing collection of his acrylic, mixed-media, abstracts.  He has accumulated dozens of prestigious prizes and is now, in his later years, with attention focusing on his talent, he is making his work available to the public.

Neal Wilson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in painting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1963. After serving in the U. S. Army for two years he returned to the University of Texas where he received his M.F.A. in painting and drawing in 1970.  He joined the faculty at Texas State University-San Marcos in January 1971 where he taught for thirty-eight years.

His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and is included in numerous private and public collections. These include the McNay Museum of Art in San Antonio, TX, The Longview Museum of Art, Longview, TX, The Tenneco Collection American Art, Houston TX, The Texaco Collection of Modern Art in Athens, Greece, The Hallmark Collection of Art, Kansas City, MO., and the Frost National Bank of San Antonio.
