La Posada de Santa Fe – Boutique Accommodations for Santa Fe Opera
Among local arts-and-culture treasures too many to count, the Santa Fe Opera is definitely one of the great attractions for anybody calling La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa home during the summer.
This venerable institution, which John O. Crosby established on a 76-acre guest ranch north of the city in 1956, has served up more than 160 operas by 80-odd composers, including no shortage of national and international premieres. The 2019 Santa Fe Opera season is underway now, and its offerings are most certainly keeping up the high standards that have defined the organization since Day One.
Santa Fe Opera 2019 Concerts
Some big-name concerts are coming to the Santa Fe Opera’s Crosby Theatre on the heels of its Festival Season in September. You’ve got Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band (currently featuring Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Greg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette, and Hamish Stuart) on August 25th; Boz Scaggs on August 27th; Kacey Musgraves on August 28th; Mariachi Extravaganza on August 31st; Bobby McFerrin on September 5th; The National on September 8th; John Fogerty on September 14th; Dwight Yoakam and His Band on September 27th; and, for all those “Winter is Coming” fans still in mourning, the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience on September 30th.
The 2019 Santa Fe Opera Festival Season
Besides concerts, the Santa Fe Opera is currently presenting several opera productions as part of its 2019 Festival Season. They include The Pearl Fishers composed by Georges Bizet, through August 23rd; the last collaboration of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, Cosi fan tutte, also through August 23rd; and Puccini’s La Bohème through August 24th.
Santa Fe Opera Tours
Through August 23rd, you can also take a behind-the-scenes look at the ins-and-outs of putting on a stage production in one of the Santa Fe Opera’s tours. These include hourlong Backstage Tours as well as guided explorations of the “Opera Ranch” grounds.
