The 2018 Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta
The Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta brings some 100 of the best wineries from the United States and beyond to the New Mexico capital and musters 75 of the city’s finest restaurants as well. This year’s edition runs from Sunday, September 23rd to Sunday, September 30th, and fills that festive span with a heapful of wine/food pairings and tastings, chef demos, wine seminars, and the like.
These proceedings crescendo to the Grand Tasting on Saturday, September 29th at the Santa Fe Opera, where the Fiesta’s chefs and sommeliers pull out all the stops for a pretty unforgettable gastronomic survey.
The restaurants participating in this year’s Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta cover some magnificent culinary territory: from il piatto’s Italian farmhouse cookery and Jambo Café’s African and Caribbean cuisine to the Mexican masterpieces of Sazón.
We’re happy to announce that our very own fine-dining establishment, Julia – A Spirited Restaurant & Bar, will also be among the featured eateries! On Friday, September 28th, our Executive Chef Tom Kerpon will be presenting the Fiesta’s Hartford Court Wine Dinner here at Julia, a three-course wine-pairing feast sure to be one of the event’s highlights.
Wineries at the 2018 Fiesta, meanwhile, are definitely of the high-caliber variety, from Perriet-Jouët out of Champagne to Miner Family Winery and other Napa emissaries.
Guest Chefs & Sommeliers
The 2018 Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta sees some highly esteemed chefs and winemakers personally lead tastings, demos, and seminars. These include such notable Santa Fe chefs as Allison Jenkins, Arturo Urreola, Tony Blankenship, and Cheryl Alters Jamison, as well as culinary maestros from farther afield: Dean Fearing, Jeff Drew, John Tesar, Laura Werlin, Matthew Accarrino, and Michael Ginor. Fred Dame, Valerie Masten, and Jesse Becker are among the featured sommeliers.
