Introducing Santa Fe Bandstand

Santa Fe Bandstand is a free festival of summer concerts held in the historic Santa Fe Plaza (just a stone’s throw from La Posada de Santa Fe) and SWAN Park on the south side of the city.

This year’s concert season kicks off on Wednesday, June 19^th and runs through August 10^th. Santa Fe Bandstand typically runs Tuesday through Saturday during its eight weeks, with the “Southside Series” concerts at SWAN Park going down on July Saturdays.

These evening concerts are a wonderful chance to hear some amazing artists do their stuff free of charge, and meanwhile enjoy a picnic meal under Santa Fe’s summer skies.

As usual, there’s an incredible lineup of musicians taking the stage at this year’s Santa Fe Bandstand. You can check out the complete list right here, but we’ll run through just a few highlights (unless otherwise noted, all locations are the Santa Fe Plaza):

• Local axeman Key Franceson Wednesday, June 26^th
• La Mera Candelaria and her Latin rhythms on Thursday, June 27^th
• Carlos Medina, widely known as “the Tom Waits of Mariachi,” on Tuesday, July 2^nd;
• Nashville roots master Jim Lauderdale at the Plaza on Wednesday, July 10^th;
• The Santa Fe Blues Divas—Paula Rhae “Little Bird” McDonald, Julie Stewart, and “Sister” Mary Evans—on Friday, July 12^th
• Two-time-Grammy-winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience on Tuesday, July 16^th
• Al Hurricane, Jr.—“the Godson of New Mexico Music” at SWAN Park on Saturday, July 20^th
• Amy Helm, who cut her musical teeth alongside her legendary father Levon (drummer and singer for The Band), on Wednesday, July 24^th
