Santa Fe Margarita Trail

Where in the U.S. can you find a better margarita than in the Southwest? Nowhere, that’s where! And for many, Santa Fe is the mecca of margaritas in this region — so many different colors, blends, glasses, and flavors. And now, you can try them all on the Santa Fe Margarita Trail.

What Is the Santa Fe Margarita Trail?

The Santa Fe Margarita Trail is a new invention in Santa Fe. It’s a chance to discover the absolute best and most unique takes on the margarita — 31 variations in all.

To form the “trail,” the most beloved bars and restaurants in the city joined forces to essentially create a map of the margarita through Santa Fe. Each location has a special signature drink, and by obtaining your Margarita Trail Passport and visiting the location, you’ll get to try their amazing drink, get a discount, and get a stamp in your passport. With enough stamps, you’re eligible for prizes and gifts.

How to Begin Your Margarita Journey in Santa Fe

Before you can take advantage of the Margarita Trail, you’ll need the Margarita Trail Passport. This is $3 at the Downtown Visitor Center in Santa Fe or at any TOURISM Santa Fe location. You must be 21 to purchase the booklet.

Once you have your passport, you’re on your way to delicious margaritas at a discounted price plus gifts and prizes. Simply show your passport to any of the 31 participating restaurants and you’ll receive $1 off their signature margarita. Ask your server to also date and stamp your passport (keep in mind there’s a maximum of two stamps per day).

Once you have at least 5 stamps, the prizes start rolling in:

  • 5 Stamps – Free Santa Fe Margarita Trail t-shirt
  • 20 Stamps – Free copy of The Great Margarita Book (signed!)
  • 31 Stamps (a complete passport) – Free bartender kit

Prizes can be picked up at the Downtown Santa Fe Visitor Center:

Plaza Galeria
66 E. San Francisco Street, Suite 3
Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501
