El Santuario de Chimayó

Every year, almost 30,000 people from around the world flock to El Santuario de Chimayó in New Mexico.

This is a small, quaint, but absolutely gorgeous Roman Catholic church. It is located in Chimayó, north of La Posada Santa Fe. The church is sacred and beloved in the area because it was founded as a contemporary pilgrimage site. It has been called “the most important Catholic pilgrimage center in the United States.”

Bandelier National Monument

For something even more in tune with nature, visit the Bandelier National Monument. This National Park protects an area of nearly 33,000 acres, where early humans lived nearly 11,000 years ago. This beautiful land, covering canyon and mesa, was the home of the Ancestral Pueblo people. Their homes can still be seen carved into the rock today.
